Steelers

I am a happy person this morning after the Steelers victory yesterday at the RCA Dome against the Colts...A side note, I am glad I have TiVo because to wait and go through commericals and those inane halftime show would just drive me crazy...

The Steelers are the first team since the inception of this current wildcard system in 1990 to be a sixth seed and make the Championship game...

Championship games in the last 10 years have not been kind to the Steelers, including losses to the Patriots twice at home...the Steelers have been the Red Sox and Cubs all rolled up in one for these years...Being a Red Sox fan as well, maybe there is a glimmer of hope for the Steelers...

I try not to get too excited about the win because the idea of high expectations goes with lowest lows for a fan...

I will be tuned to my TiVo next Sunday with my 34 jersey with my surname on it, sitting in my favorite recliner, rooting for "my" Steelers and talking to the TV like a crazy man...

If the Steelers win, I will be a little happier than this week, and then repeat the same process for SuperBowl XL ...

If the Steelers lose, I will be a little more sadder than if it was this week, I will put up my 34 jersey, and take a shot of Herradura from my Steelers shot glass, a end of the year of tradition...

GO STEELERS!

There's nothing like a true Steelers fan. OK - I admit that I am a Seahawks fan, but the ending of the Steelers-Colts game was the best I've ever seen, and I lost my voice cheering for the Steelers. They really proved themselves yesterday, so GO STEELERS!

Pepper, it was nice being a Seahawks fan last weekend as well, you guys got off a 20 year playoff winless streak...I will be pulling for the Seahawks this weekend, I like to see new blood in the SuperBowl(with the Steeler exception)...I had Hasselbeck as my Fantasy Football QB all year, so I followed the Seahawks on Directv...I like the Seahawks...well unless they happen to face the Steelers in the SuperBowl...that would be fantastic...

Fire ant, dig your wife, in a platonic fan rooting for the Steelers way...Thank you for your support...I think being a Dolphin fan you will probably have more to root for next season as in how well the Dolphins finished this season...

GO STEELERS!

Congrats! I really thought the refs were going to screw you guys in that game. That interception that got called back has to be THE WORST call I have ever seen in a game. Good luck against Denver

I am happy for you, only thing that I have at this point in time thanks to the Colt's loss is being able to talk about the perfect season...however...after that many years? The Dolphins are eventually going to have to so something more than rest on their laurels.

:-)

It was my fault Bettis fumbled that easy touchdown. See, up here in Canada (Ontario, actually) we have something called Pro-Line (a sport betting lottery). You have to bet on a minimum of three games. I bet all four NFL games. Had them all except the Pit/Ind one. Essentially, a win is by 4 or more points, anything less is considered a tie. I had picked the Steelers to win by 4 or more! All Bettis had to do was get that frikkin' touchdown and I would have won $200! See...I jinxed him!

Yeah although I chose Denver to win - I would love to see Bill Cowher finally win one. Last year when the Patriots (who much to my surprise forgot how to play football on Saturday) killed Pittsburgh I felt bad for Bill Cowher as he spoke after the game with tears in his eyes. But since the Pats are out - I really don't care who wins - but I would love to see John Fox go all the way!

Another Prediction: Steve Smith Superbowl MVP.

My Dad used to run a gas station near the Oakland Colesium. As a kid on Sundays I used to watch Stabler, Tuz and the rest come and fill up either before or after the game.

I have no love for Steelers. I hurts (on the inside) to see them win.

But at least they aren't the Dallas Cowboys.

So I give the best (gulp) Mazaltoff I can.

God I hate the Steelers!

Which forces me to say something else that I thought I would only say under DOD sanctioned torture...

"Go Broncos!"

The playoffs are so painful.

P.s. This doesnt count as a "Freep" does it? I agree with all the other stuff you say...

Quite right, Lisa......as a Dolphins fan, I've been spoiled by only two or three losing seasons, but it's been mediocrity every year for a long, long time. At least when Marino was there, it was fun to watch. Get a quarterback!!

i'll be cheering for the steelers this week too. you probably already saw my rant about how happy i was to see them beat peyton (oh yeah, and the rest of the colts), so i won't subject you to it again!

oh, and my friend is threatening her husband with naming their next dog "dick lebeau" (sp?) if the steelers win it all :)

Rob, I think it was a weekend of bad calls...They have to do better...

Steve, I have been there...last years SuperBowl...Could the Pats win more than 3 in any SuperBowl? Nope...

Blue, thank you for your well wishes...

Cairo, I am completely knowledge-less about futbol(soccer)...I reckon I will pull for the US, then whoever the Cinderella team might be...

Crackpot, I can empathize with your hatred of another team...of late, mine has been the Patriots...I have always had a healthy dislike of Baltimore(criminals), Cowboys(just don't like them)...I don't dislike the Raiders considering they are part of one of most biggest Steelers plays of all time...I think it is cool story about your family and the Raiders, I think you should hate the Patriots too, considering your team was robbed on that "non-fumble" a few years back...So thank you for the Mazaltoff, even though you hate the Steelers...

Fireant, I concur...Man, do the Dolphins need a QB...Maybe Culpepper or Favre...that would interesting...then you guys can beat the Pats...

Kate, I think LeBeau would be a cool name...but he might be mixed up with the Hogan's Heroes character...

The Dolphins seem to split with the Pats for the past few years, but I share your hatred of the Patriots......nice to see their Championship run come to a screeching halt. I'll take Culpepper (local guy, originally wanted to play with the 'fins), but I think Favre is on his last legs.......

I know how you feel. As a University of Texas alum, I was practically giddy before the resplendant Horns. Not a big pro fan, but for the heck of it...Go Steelers!
